Devotion for the day
Psalm 9:9
God tests your faith so that you may trust His faithfulness.
One evening I went out for shopping along with my wife Zion. We witnessed one of the most horrifying traffic accidents. A young man was involved in a traffic accident. This young guy struck an automobile and the bike slid along the ground for more than 200 feet. I immediately ran to help him. He had injuries all over his body. But after a while I told him that he is really fortunate to survive. The youngster was so much in pain yet he smiled and said God is good.
Later in the day my wife was mentioning that he was really lucky that he hadn’t received any permanent injuries.
When you experience tragedy, you may wonder about God’s goodness. Is God always good? Yes, He is. He doesn’t promise that bad things will never happen to us, but He does promise to be “our refuge and strength” Psalms 46:1.
He doesn’t promise that you will never walk through heart wrenching circumstances, but He promises that you won’t be alone Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
God is good no matter what you may be facing in your life. Even when you don’t understand, you can say with Habakkuk, “Yet will I rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation 3:18
Dear beloved what ever suffering you may be facing right now even as you read, please remember Psalm 9:9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.
Be assured that God tests your faith so that you may trust His faithfulness.
Have a blessed day
