PREAPPROVED CREDIT - PSALM 32:1-2

Devotion for the day

Psalm 32:1-2
PREAPPROVED CREDIT

If God forgives us, we must forgive ourselves. Otherwise it is almost like setting up ourselves as a higher tribunal than him. C. S. Lewis (1898–1963)

Good morning dear Brother and Sister. How you are doing today? I know you are in a relaxing mood today. That’s the reason I wanted to reach you by afternoon through our weekend devotion. What are your plans for the week end? One of my spiritual brother who is a medical doctor cooks a big breakfast for his entire family taking time from his busy schedule. Taking a tip from him I plan to cook lunch for my family this weekend giving some rest to my mom, wife and sister.

I have some exciting offer this weekend for you and for your family members through
Psalm 32:1-2 says: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Paul referred to Psalm 32:1-2 to declare that your status with God- forgiven and credited with righteousness is a free gift from God himself (Romans 4:6-8). Because Jesus died in your place, God makes, so to speak, a deposit to your “righteousness account,” a deposit you did not earn and could not have provided on your own. He at the same time makes a withdrawal from your sin account and declares you forgiven. Dear friend what a benefit both ways! God both credits you with righteousness by His grace and cancels you debt of sin (Romans 4:3, 5). What he asks of you is simply that you believe what He says.

Do you believe that you’re forgiven and your sins are covered by His precious blood?
You may be struggling with your past sins, guilt and shame and doubt God’s forgiveness for your life. Dear beloved let me give you a practical illustration so that you will understand this better. Get up from your computer and grab 50 cents from your wallet or purse. Now hold it in you palm. Let’s say that 50 cents represents your Sin, Shame and guilt. Now close your palm and look at the 50 cents, you can’t see it because it’s covered in your palm. In the same way dear Brother and Sister when God looks at you he sees that you are covered by His precious blood. He will not look at your past. What a blessing and assurance in Jesus Christ.

Have a joyous and victorious weekend because of the Preapproved credit offer from Jesus Christ.

In His Service
Pastor. John Spurgeon
