Devotion for the day

Text: Jeremiah 18:1-6

Good Morning dear Brothers and Sisters. How are you doing today? Did you attend church yesterday? I hope you did.

Today I was thinking about spiritual growth and behavior of a Christian. Many times you may think God servants are super spiritual and they don’t struggle with any issues in life. One thing you tend to forget is that they are humans as well. But that will not give them freedom to act and behave like worldly people.


Today I was counseling some folks in the church and they were complaining that the Christian growth process is slow and tedious. They become discouraged and stop growing because they want instant knowledge without any of the effort. Mature Christians have some of the same difficulties only in a different way. They perceive themselves as having all the knowledge necessary to live the Christian life, so they stop growing and risk becoming hardened to the intimate love of God.


Dear beloved if you’re also feeling the same way then the Lord has a solution for both of these spiritual abnormalities. It is called being molded into the likeness of Christ, and it’s much more than a one or two year process. It is a process through which you grow abundantly as child of God. There’s no time for boredom or pride, because you are too much in love with Christ.


When you seek to be like Christ, you seek holiness. But in order to become holy, you must submit yourself to the shaping and molding of God’s loving hands. We are like clay on potter’s wheel. Clay cries out to be molded into something of beauty. The potter longs to mold and shape your life. Allow Him to take whatever time He needs to create in you a joy and devotion of immeasurable worth.


Listen to me dear Brothers and Sisters, God may reshape or remold, but He will never discard you.
