Devotion for the day – February 17th 2011
God is the God of promise. He keeps his word, even when that seems impossible; even when the circumstances seem to point to the opposite. Colin Urquhart
In Exodus 13:11 says: “And it shall be, when the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as He swore to you and your fathers, and gives it to you,
This promise should have given them hope even in the most stressful times as they journeyed through the desert. Yet when they felt trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptians, their faith failed
Turning to Moses, they said, “It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness” Exodus 14:12. Despite their lack of faith, God divided the waters and saved them from the advancing army. Only then did the people fear and believe God (Exodus 14:31)
Dear beloved Brother and Sister, We too have promises from God. He said in Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Yet we sometimes face our trails as if God has abandoned us. He told us in 1 John 5:14 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us”. Yet we often tackle life’s problems without first committing them to God.
During our times of difficulty, we need to rely on God’s promises. That’s how faith grows strong. Listen friend tackle life’s problems by trusting God’s promises. The Promised Land always lies on the other side of a wilderness.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." – Revelation 21:3-4
